Safe Kids Shawnee County offers free monthly car-seat checks to help families ensure child seats fit correctly.
The next check is on Feb. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Cable Dahmer in Topeka, and appointments are available if needed.
Capital Peace Project, a joint initiative by CIVIC + YWCA Kansas, launched today at Central Park Community Center with a $500,000 DOJ grant to support local youth and reduce violence.
