On MLK Day (Monday, Jan.

19) volunteers sorted donated clothes and prepared meals for those in need at Topeka Rescue Mission's Living the Dream events. The initiative honored Martin Luther King's legacy and brought the community together through acts of service.

The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center hosted an MLK Day event on Monday that featured story time with Areiana Green and a musical performance by The Ensemble to teach kids about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Children also expressed their dreams through an interactive artwork activity.

Living the Dream, Inc. honored young scholars with scholarships and awards at its MLK Day program held Monday, Jan.

19 at (Brown v. Board of Education National Historical Park) by recognizing winners of art, essay, and poetry contests.

Ron Ward, a longtime announcer (over 20 years) at Heartland Motorsports Park, said the track will soon reopen under International Hot Rod Association management and is expected to draw regional fans while boosting local businesses.
