- ➤ Despite light snow on Saturday, EquiFest drew vendors and visitors at Stormont Vail Event Center. The trade show continues today from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. — a chance for the local equestrian community to connect. WIBW
- ➤ Topeka Rescue Mission opened warming centers Friday to help those seeking shelter from the cold; by evening about 70 people had visited. Staff are accepting donations and volunteer sign-ups as community members are urged to offer support. WIBW
- ➤ Local residents who were affected by heavy weekend snowfall are invited to submit photos for a chance to appear on 13 NEWS. The call encourages the community to share experiences from the winter storm. WIBW
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, 1 to 3 inches of snow fell in Topeka and roads became treacherous; a lull occurred by midday before a light round hit Saturday night. By Sunday, most snow had moved east while bitter cold with wind chills near 15 degrees below zero continued (dress warmly). WIBW
