- ➤ The Topeka Fire Department issued winter fire safety tips by advising residents to keep space heaters three feet from combustibles and get fireplaces inspected. Division Chief Kevin Gill (TFD) noted the city's free smoke alarm program as a precaution after about 17 home fires since December. WIBW
