On Sunday, Feb. 22, Aviation Explorers Post 8 held its annual 1940s swing dance fundraiser at Vaerus Aviation in Topeka, featuring live big-band music, dancing, a silent auction, and a nacho bar that supports subsidized flight training for youth.
The Brick Convention continues today at Agriculture Hall with sessions from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. + 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., where kids and fans build sets and shop creative displays.
Tickets are selling fast as themed builds include Legos and dinosaur models.
The Arab Shriners of Topeka recently held a free screening clinic for children ages 1 to 18 to assess orthopedic and muscular conditions, and they will host another session in June in Emporia + offer referral support for families unable to attend in person.
