Topeka Fire Department crews responded at 4:52 a.m. Monday to a garage fire in the alley of the 1100 block of S.W.

Boswell near the intersection of S.W. 12th and Boswell — a dumpster and nearby fence were also burning.

Topeka Police are investigating an early morning shooting on Sunday at the 3100 block of SE Emerson Street where officers found an adult woman with multiple gunshot wounds—she was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and a suspect was taken into custody.
