ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Emergency crews responded to a report of a single vehicle crash near Interstate 70 on S.E. Carnahan Avenue in East Topeka early Wednesday morning at about 6:56 a.m. and no serious injuries were reported. WIBW
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On March 25, Shawnee County officers arrested three Topeka men and a juvenile during a narcotics search and related traffic stop that led to the seizure of fentanyl, firearms, and large amounts of cash (the DEA assisted with the investigation). WIBW
- ➤ A Topeka man, Jeremy Boone Rath (25), was arrested following a residential burglary investigation that linked him to incidents on March 18 and March 20 after officers observed him matching the description on March 25. WIBW
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ NOTO is hosting the Redbud Youth Festival in North Topeka Arts and Entertainment District starting April 4—its Youth Art Exhibit takes submissions until March 29 with an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Youth can also join an Art Supply Swap on April 12 at the NOTO Community Arts Center and Saturday open studio sessions at the Avant Garde Underground. - ➤ The Topeka Symphony will perform on Saturday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. at White Concert Hall (Washburn University) with the U.S. premiere of Chinese composer Deqwin Wen’s 'New Age Symphony' played alongside Dvorak’s New World Symphony while 16-year-old cellist John Lee performs as a soloist. WIBW
- ➤ Comedian AJ Wilkerson, who lives with autism, social anxiety, ADHD and depressive tendencies, shares in an interview how doing standup helps him cope and bring joy to others. - ➤ The Greater Topeka Chamber’s Military Relations Council will meet in April to build strong ties with military members, veteran business owners and groups that support defense. The council will focus on workforce development, economic growth and state policy analysis to boost mutual support — a plan aimed at strengthening Topeka’s role in the national defense ecosystem. - ➤ The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said there are 23 measles cases this year—up from 10 last week—in six southwest counties with most cases in children, and officials are urging vaccination to help stop the spread. WIBW

- ➤ Two freshmen, Dillon Claussen and Kade Cook, stepped up in Tuesday's Elite Eight game when star Andrew Orr struggled with fouls, helping Washburn win and reach the Final Four.
