The Topeka Zoo is planning a new exhibit with Sumatran tigers and new animals arriving this spring—zookeepers will teach kids about caring for wildlife.

The zoo will break ground later this spring and open the exhibit in June 2026.

KDOT announced that crews will begin resurfacing an eight-mile section of I-70 (from K-30 in Wabaunsee to Valencia Road in Shawnee) on Tuesday, April 1.
