- ➤ For 22 years, the YWCA Northeast Kansas Center for Safety and Empowerment has held its Concealed Revealed Art Auction that raises funds for free and confidential services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, stalking and human trafficking. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Topeka Police said around 1:30 a.m. Saturday a vehicle drove off the I-70 overpass near 2nd and S. Kansas Ave—on a blocked section under construction, the driver was pronounced dead on scene. WIBW
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Topeka Police arrested a 25-year-old suspect on April 4 in North Topeka after officers responded before 11 p.m. to reports of a battered person on the 600 block of North Kansas Avenue; the suspect now faces charges (attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated battery). KSNT
- ➤ Oklahoma resident Gary Hermesch, 66, is charged with first-degree murder for the April 3 shooting death of Father Arul Carasala and now faces life in prison after entering Nemaha Co. court in a wheelchair on Friday — his preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15th at 11:30 a.m. WIBW
