Evergy employees helped Community Action on Wednesday morning by restocking shelves and packaging diapers for the nonprofit’s Diaper Depot program that provides 50 free diapers each month to eligible families.

Their volunteer work comes at a time when rising diaper costs are straining family budgets.

Junior League Topeka is raising awareness of poverty this week by inviting local women leaders to wear the same dress every day as part of its Dress for Change campaign — donations will support community service projects like care package assemblies.

This marks the campaign's seventh year in Topeka.
