The ride will start at 1 p.m. with music from 5 to 7 p.m. and follows with dinner.

Dillons donated $500 to the One Kid One Can nonprofit in honor of Nichole Miller, a Dillons associate who earned the 2025 Kroger Community Service Award for her leadership and volunteerism in the community.

The donation supports her work to help children and families.

Helping Hands Humane Society took in 70 cats from one residence as part of a 10-day effort that brought over 240 animals to the shelter in Topeka.

The shelter has started spaying and neutering programs and will soon list more cats for adoption.

LifeHouse Child Advocacy Center’s Heroes campaign ends today, asking Topeka residents to support efforts to provide safe interview spaces for child abuse cases.

Funds raised by community heroes, including educators and law enforcement, will equip the center’s team + enhance their training.

Residents in Topeka will see a modest rise in summer cooling bills as projections show electricity rates in midwestern households will increase by about $30, driven by warmer temperatures and higher costs; the National Energy Assistance Directors Association predicts a 8.5% national increase from June to September.
