- ➤ Officials announced Thursday morning that a one-stop homeless resource center will open in July at Let's Help’s campus at 245 S.W. MacVicar Ave and will offer mobile health services, shelter support + housing navigation through local partnerships. The pilot program, led by Compassion Strategies, Let's Help and the All Hands On Deck Campaign, aims to provide integrated assistance to people facing homelessness in Topeka. WIBW
- ➤ The Topeka Community Cycle Project announced a bike parts vending machine will launch on May 27 at noon at Shawnee County Central Park Community Center—funded by Azura Credit Union and stocked with brake pads, shift cables, bike chains, tubes and bar tape. It will operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. KSNT
- ➤ Bison Pet Academy with Scout Troop 59 will be held Saturday, May 31 at First Lutheran Church, 1234 SW Fairlawn Rd. in Topeka, where scouts can earn animal care and science merit badges from 8 a.m. to Noon and then join a free community event from 1 to 5 p.m. featuring local pet groups — including Helping Hands Humane Society and Team Kitten.
