COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Kickstart Saloon hosted the third annual Save a Life Poker Run to raise funds and support the fight against the fentanyl epidemic in Topeka. Nearly 200 participants rode together & their donations benefit TK Fight’s Fentanyl organization.  WIBW
  • West Ridge Mall held a Touch a Truck event on Saturday morning where kids explored trucks from local groups and helped support the Boys and Girls Club. The mall will host the event again next year.  WIBW

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • KDWP is asking volunteers to help with the Great Plains Bumble Bee Atlas and train to map Kansas bumblebees. Free in-person sessions are set for June 6 at Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve and June 7 at Sandsage Bison Range Wildlife Area, with online training available.  WIBW

SPORTS NEWS

  • Kansas baseball overcame a 3 to 1 deficit with a tying home run and insurance run to win 5 to 3, leaving the Jayhawks one win away from their first Super Regional berth as they will meet the winner of tomorrow's elimination game between Arkansas and Northeastern at 5 p.m.  WIBW
