- ➤ People in Topeka can choose from over 50 fireworks stands for Independence Day from local vendors and county sellers. Kansas lawmakers extended seasonal sales from June 20 to July 7 under Senate Bill 199—local ordinances allow fireworks use from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 3 and from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on July 4. - ➤ Envista Federal Credit Union partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas to help families with sick or premature infants by delivering baby care bags and snacks to Stormont Vail Health’s NICU. - ➤ On Sunday, June 16 at 2:20 p.m., a 71-year-old woman lost control of her Nissan Rogue on I-470 in Topeka, causing the vehicle to roll off the road and strike a culvert, and her 80-year-old passenger from Osage City was seriously injured (both were wearing seatbelts). KSNT

- ➤ The annual Sunflower Music Festival will take place at Washburn University’s White Concert Hall from June 20 to 28, offering free nightly concerts with music ranging from orchestral to jazz—high school ensembles will perform on June 28 at 3 p.m. and additional outreach events are scheduled.
