- ➤ Cruisin 4 Charity, a car show benefit for Dream Acres FASD, is set for Saturday, June 28 at Forest Park, 3158 SE 10th St—gates open at 9 a.m. Public entry starts at 10 a.m. and the event will have food trucks, inflatables, vendors, raffles and car show awards at 4 p.m. WIBW
- ➤ Evergy and The Salvation Army will give away 345 free fans on Wednesday, June 25 at 9 a.m. at the Salvation Army community center at 1320 S. 6th Street in Topeka. - ➤ The Sunflower Music Festival returns to Northeast Kansas in June with nine free concerts at Washburn’s White Concert Hall—featuring orchestra, chamber, and jazz music and running through June 28th. WIBW
- ➤ Today at the Woodshed Event Center in north Topeka, the first annual Renaissance Festival opens with jousting shows, living history encampments, axe throwing, and face painting — tickets cost $30 for an adult weekend pass, $16 for a one-day pass, $10 for a child weekend pass and $5 for a one-day pass — and the event continues tomorrow with contests including a tug-of-war.
