On Saturday, northeast Kansans played at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Sole Reason's annual fundraiser tournament, where teams of four raised funds for free sneakers for children.
Proceeds supported the nonprofit's community cause.
The Fiesta Topeka kickoff event on Saturday, June 27 featured royalty candidates Gabriela Gonzales and Joselinee Morales Aquino serving traditional dishes at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, and festivities will continue with a parade on July 11 followed by events from July 14 to 18.
Fellowship Hi-Crest’s Summer Sky Extravaganza took place on Saturday, June 27 with food trucks, bounce houses, family activities, a costume car show + a drone light show that started at 10 p.m. Part of the proceeds supported Mirror, Inc.'s Work for Success program.
Two Topeka natives, Chris Breit and Mike Boisvert, were inducted into the Kansas Flying Disc Association Hall of Fame at Champions Landing in Emporia on Friday night and their work at Crestview Park helped grow disc golf across the state.
