On June 28, the Community Resources Council celebrated its 100th anniversary with free food, a car show and resource bingo—marking a century of service to families in need.

The council works with local nonprofits like Community Action to provide housing assistance and other essential support in Topeka.

Amateur radio enthusiasts from the Kaw Valley Amateur Radio Club set up antennas and took part in National Radio Field Day at the National Guard Museum on June 28 (a 24-hour annual event) to test their communication skills.

They practiced techniques to ensure they can provide emergency communication if cell systems fail.

The Perry community celebrated Perry Farm to Fork's one-year anniversary Saturday, June 28 at 605 Cedar St. in Perry (with food trucks, live music, and local vendors).
