Tecumseh Kiwanis Club held its annual ice cream social Sunday at Tecumseh United Methodist Church with live music + community fellowship.
Attendees learned they could support the club by mailing a check to the church as the event has been held since 1961.
🎭 Culture
On Saturday, a live demonstration near the historic Ritchie House brought Civil War history to the community as the Shawnee County Historical Society hosted a cannon firing event.
Topeka residents Jon & his father Frank operated the reproduction cannon to share authentic soldier history, though no projectiles were used.
🏈 Sports
Washburn University is hosting the 2026 MIAA Football Media Day today at 9:30 a.m. at its Bill Sneed Indoor Athletic Facility where the Ichabods, Emporia State Hornets and eight other MIAA teams will share season insights.
Chiefs rookie wide receiver Cyrus Allen – who played Madden with Patrick Mahomes – reported to training camp at Missouri Western University over the weekend.
He was drafted in the 5th round after a standout season with the Cincinnati Bearcats and is now learning the playbook.
