- ➤ At the Shawnee County Fair on Sunday, Shawnee County 4-H announced the new King and Queen, Austin Weber and Kelsey Louderback, at the Stormont Vail Events Center. They both hope to boost 4-H programs + encourage local youth participation in new projects. WIBW
- ➤ Family and friends gathered at the Kay McFarland Japanese Garden on July 27 to honor Kansas’ first female Supreme Court Chief Justice—she would have celebrated her 90th birthday despite passing away at 80 in 2015, and community leaders shared reflections on her lasting impact. WIBW
- ➤ Fairlawn Nazarene Church hosted its Soaring Back to School event that gave away 500 backpacks and school supplies to elementary and middle school students from ten local partners — each group using a theme from a different part of the world.
