Topeka's Living the Dream Inc hosted So Soul Summer on Saturday, Aug.
22 to empower youth with Hawaiian-themed food and dance and raise funds for college students and graduating seniors — the event has given $800,000 in scholarships over 40 years.

The UBA5 Foundation held its 8th annual Awareness Walk at the Topeka Zoo on Saturday morning despite the rain, drawing strong community support to raise funds and awareness for an ultra-rare neurological condition.
The money raised will support medical research and assist families affected by UBA5.
