First United Methodist Church hosted its fourth summer block party Sunday afternoon where neighbors enjoyed a free meal + cakewalk and learned about ongoing outreach efforts.

Former KU quarterback Jalon Daniels was named the backup by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday after a strong preseason where he showed solid passing and running skills in three games.

He earned his NFL opportunity and will replace veteran Jake Browning.

Former K-State running back DJ Giddens from Junction City scored his first NFL touchdown on Saturday in the Colts’ final preseason game against the Lions — he carried twice, including a 6-yard rush that sparked his teammates’ celebration.
