  • The Arab Shriners hosted their annual conference in Topeka for the first time in 20 years, featuring motor vehicle competitions, a marketplace, and a clown competition, all aimed to support Shriners Children's Hospital.  WIBW
  • A new remote driver's licensing unit will open at AAA's Topeka store, providing a variety of services including licensing renewals, Real ID issuance, and more, starting September 10.  WIBW
  • Two highway exit ramps at the U.S. 75 and U.S. 24 interchange in Topeka will close on Sept 4 for bridge repairs, with detours in place until early October.  KSNT

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 west of Topeka on Tuesday morning, with no immediate information on injuries.  WIBW
  • Two women were safely rescued after being stranded for two days on a Kansas River sandbar, with multiple emergency services aiding in the operation.  WIBW

CRIME NEWS

  • The Topeka Fire Department identified a pile of tires as the source of a large, intentionally set fire that spread black smoke across Topeka.  KSNT
