- ➤ The Topeka Police Department responded to a three-vehicle crash in the 500 block of Southwest Garfield Avenue near downtown—one vehicle was removed and no injuries were reported by 12:46 p.m. KSNT
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ New federal guidelines for wind and solar tax credits took effect Monday, but Evergy said the approved solar projects in Kansas and Missouri will not be affected and will still qualify for the existing credits. Kansas Reflector
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Bill Kurtis, a native journalist who once covered a Topeka tornado, will headline the 14th annual Kansas Book Festival at Washburn University on Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — the free event will include author talks, live music and children's activities. The Topeka Capital-Journal

- ➤ A judge dismissed a discrimination lawsuit filed by Brently Dorsey who said the Fire Department did not give him a promotion because of his race and disability—he did not offer any proof after he retired, and another suit from Barbara Hack will go to trial in December. WIBW
- ➤ City officials released the Summer 2025 Point in Time Homeless Count from June 25 and said the homeless population in Topeka and Shawnee County dropped by 10 individuals to 524—over 40 volunteers helped with the count. WIBW

- ➤ Angels reliever Ryan Zeferjahn, a Seaman High graduate who debuted in MLB in August, was celebrated Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium as over 30 family members and friends gathered in a tailgate organized by former coach Steve Bushnell—giving him a full circle moment in his baseball journey.
