Washburn University partnered with KTWU for its annual Holiday Vespers, a festive concert in the White Concert Hall that ended with a carol sing-along.

The event will be broadcast on KTWU HD 11.1 and streamed on ktwu.tv at various times, including Sunday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The Topeka Art Guild and Gallery held its first Ugly Sweater Party Fun-Raiser Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fairlawn Plaza Mall, where guests enjoyed a sweater contest, karaoke, games, and an auction to raise funds for the new location.

On Saturday evening, a digester overflow at Oakland Wastewater Treatment Plant in Topeka’s Oakland neighborhood spilled raw sewage onto the corner of NE Poplar and Grant Streets (Sylvia Davis said crews responded promptly to contain the spill and address a slight odor).
