  • A 15-year-old girl was severely injured in a rollover accident near Mission Valley High School when her vehicle veered off the road and rolled several times.  KSNT

CRIME NEWS

  • Topeka Police are investigating the death of 31-year-old Dalton K. Thomas as a hit-and-run after his body was found in north Topeka.  KSNT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A mentorship program at Robinson Middle School in Topeka has paired 14 at-risk students with volunteers to discuss goals and monitor progress.  KSNT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Laura Kelly allocated $1.9 million from the Federal Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Grant Program to fund crime prevention and improvement programs across 26 law enforcement agencies in Kansas.  KSNT
  • Shawnee County approves an additional $277,403.57 for the Stormont Vail Events Center, bringing total financial support in 2024 to over $550,000 due to the center's poor financial performance and loss of a key sports team.  KSNT
