- ➤ Kansas lawmakers approved extending STAR bonds to fund a $3B plan for a stadium and training facility to bring the Chiefs home. Gov. Kelly said the deal — expected to create over 20,000 jobs — will see a new stadium open in Wyandotte County for the 2031 NFL season. WIBW

- ➤ Kansas lawmakers will vote Monday, Dec. 29 on a proposal to build a new $2 billion stadium in Kansas that could lead the Chiefs to leave Arrowhead Stadium — a local icon — while owner Clark Hunt and team officials attend the meeting. WIBW
- ➤ Mayor Padilla and City Manager Perez say downtown is growing as construction continues on the Union at Tower; a public hearing for the 197-unit Project View is set for Feb. 3 (located between SW Van Buren and SW Jackson Street and between SW Sixth and Seventh). WIBW

- ➤ The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts suspended Pittsburg doctor Jacqueline M. Youtsos’s license on Friday, Dec. 19 after a 67 year old patient died on July 1, 2024. The board said that allowing her to continue practice poses an imminent danger to public health + safety. WIBW
