- ➤ Religious leaders held a Kwanzaa celebration — part of a week-long event honoring African American heritage, family and community — Friday evening at the National Accord Center amid a vendor fair, and the festivities will continue until January 1. WIBW
- ➤ Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan will host a Family New Year’s Eve event on Dec. 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. with pajamas encouraged and fun activities (balloon drop, pizza, snacks, glow maze and dance party); tickets cost $22 for members and $28 for non-members. WIBW

- ➤ The Topeka Zoo is accepting live Christmas trees until Jan. 8 at Gage Park on its south end to boost animal enrichment; trees must be free of ornaments (no tinsel, hooks, or plastic bags) before being turned into mulch. WIBW

- ➤ The Topeka Police Department will host a Blue Blood Drive on Wednesday, Jan. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center (320 S. Kansas Ave) in partnership with Kansas C.O.P.S. and the American Red Cross to help reach a goal of 28 pints for National Law Enforcement Day. WIBW
