If you follow Washburn soccer, Friday was a good day. The No. 21 Ichabods beat Emporia State 5-0 in the MIAA semifinals in Wichita, and Washburn Rural's Kate Hinck scored a hat trick. The wasn't much of a tussle.

The teams had played to a 1-1 draw in their only regular-season meeting, WIBW reported before the game, so someone had to win this time. Hinck scored in the 31st minute, and Avery McCorry made it 2-0 after the break on an assist from Leah Henke.

  • Next: Pittsburg State, Sun., Nov. 8, at 2 p.m.
  • Hat trick: Hinck's third goal came in the 66th minute
  • Final goal: Lydia Keller in the 77th minute
